President's Message When I was growing up, my favorite song in the whole world was "Look For The Silver Lining". In those years, they were just words sung to a pretty melody. I have since learned just how profound that sentiment really is. It has become increasingly difficult to find that Silver Lining. Our country is falling apart, both literally and figuratively. Our young men are dying in Iraq at a frightening rate. Here at home, our state is totally in the control of the right wing. Where could there possibly be a Silver Lining? Well again, we need to look carefully. We can see it if we try. The disgusting state that George W. Bush has led us to could be our Silver Lining. It is becoming increasingly difficult for the American people to show confidence in this present Bush/Cheney Administration, while looking at the total devastation in Louisiana and the poverty that has come to blazing realization because of the tragedy. The poll numbers have plummeted and with a little effort and correct usage of the facts, this is our time for a comeback! We have some very good candidates vying for the Gubernatorial nomination. It is time to identify your choice and to become active in promoting that choice. Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been very vocal on the floor of the U.S. Congress in making our points known. She is creating quite a name for herself and will be here in October so that we can get information from her face to face. It will be quite a meeting and I look forward to seeing you all there. Let's give our own Debbie the welcome she so richly deserves!!! Fondly, Ann Zucker
